What is the best novel writing software for Mac OS X Tiger?

I really have trouble finding Writing softwares for Macintosh.. But I have this one called Bean, and it doesn't really work on my computer, even though I have the right version. There is also one called "TextEdit" and it is not a very good software. Anyone have any suggestions for a REALLY good writing software?
