Why do less people use the macintosh operating system?

Main reason, computer users are not exposed to MAC computers in everyday life and have no idea what they are. I probably could give a few dumb answers if I tried hard enough. Majority of it, may be all the negative things they hear about a MAC and I don't mean the cost. MAC is an investment not an expense as every one likes to claim.
